Premier League (Bangladesh) (Bangladesh Football League, formerly Bangladesh Premier League) - the top-tier professional club division in Bangladesh organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation. Regulations: the competition is played as a double round-robin league, each team plays every opponent twice home and away, a win is worth 3 points, a draw 1 and a loss 0, and the table is decided by points. If two teams are level on points in the title race or within the relegation positions, the regulations allow a two-leg play-off with extra time in the second leg and a penalty shootout if needed. If three or more teams are level on points in those zones, the sequence is head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, then overall goal difference, disciplinary record and a draw of lots. For all other places the usual order is overall goal difference, then goals scored, then disciplinary record and a draw of lots. At the end of the season the bottom clubs are relegated to the Bangladesh Championship League and top second-tier clubs are promoted subject to club licensing. AFC qualification depends on the association quota and licensing, and in some seasons includes places in AFC Champions League Two qualifying and AFC Challenge League qualifying.
