Belarusian First League (Pershaya Liga) - the second tier of men’s professional club football in Belarus under the Belarusian Football Federation. Regulations: the competition is played as a league, typically with 18 teams in a double round-robin home-and-away schedule, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. If teams are level on points, the ranking is determined by the prescribed sequence: head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, then overall goal difference, then total wins, then total goals scored, and if still tied the final ordering is decided by a draw of lots. At season end, the top 2 usually earn promotion to the Belarusian Premier League, the 3rd-placed team may face a promotion playoff against a Premier League side, and the lowest-placed teams are relegated to the Second League, with specific rotation mechanics potentially affected by reserve-team status and licensing decisions.
