Hun Sen Cup - an annual Cambodian domestic cup competition for clubs, staged under the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) with an organisational role by the Cambodian National Competitions Committee (CNCC). Regulations: the competition is typically split into two stages, usually starting with a provincial stage that includes a group phase (teams are placed into groups and play a round-robin, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss), followed by a knockout bracket, and when comparing teams from groups of different sizes, results against the bottom team in a larger group may be excluded in specific cases, which affects the ranking of the best runners-up. The national stage is usually a cup-style knockout involving top-tier clubs and the best provincial qualifiers, where some rounds can be played over two legs home and away while selected rounds or decisive matches may be single-leg. In two-legged ties the winner is decided on aggregate, and if level the tie is settled by the procedure set out in the season regulations, including penalties in the second leg, while in single-leg matches a draw leads to extra time and, if still level, a penalty shootout. The winner earns a place in the Cambodian Super Cup, and any AFC club-competition entry depends on the federation’s quota and eligibility requirements stated in the season regulations.
