Cup (Chile) (Copa Chile) - Chile’s main domestic knockout cup competition, organised by the Chilean Football Federation and administered by the National Association of Professional Football (ANFP). Regulations: the tournament is played by Primera División and Primera B clubs and is staged in two phases - a group phase and a knockout phase, with 32 clubs split into two regional zones that form 8 groups of 4 teams, three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss, and group rankings for teams level on points are decided by goal difference, wins, goals scored, away goals scored, fewer red cards, fewer yellow cards, a higher position in the Copa Chile ranking, then lots. The top two teams in each group qualify for the Round of 16, and the Round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals are played over two legs with the second-leg host determined by the group position or the Copa Chile ranking, and if level over two matches the team that advances is determined by goal difference and if still level by a penalty shoot-out. The final is a single match at a venue set by the organiser and if level after regulation time the winner is decided by a penalty shoot-out. The winner earns Chile 4 entry to the CONMEBOL Libertadores subject to the club meeting CONMEBOL admission criteria for the season of the continental competition, with replacements applied under the season rules if the winner cannot take the berth.
