Primera B (Colombia) (Categoría Primera B, Torneo BetPlay DIMAYOR) - the second tier of Colombia’s professional club league system, organized by DIMAYOR within the CONMEBOL confederation. Regulations: the season is structured around two tournaments, each with 16 clubs and a 16-round “all-play-all” phase after which the top 8 advance to the semifinal cuadrangulares, split into two groups of four playing home and away, with the group winners reaching a two-leg final. Points are awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, and ties in the phase tables are broken by DIMAYOR criteria in order: goal difference, goals scored, away goals scored, fewer away goals conceded, fewer yellow cards, fewer red cards, then a draw. In two-leg finals, if teams remain level, the winner is determined by aggregate goal difference and, if still level after the second leg, by a penalty shootout. Promotion to the top division (Categoría Primera A) is set by the season regulations and is typically based on the two tournament champions and the annual reclassification table, with scenarios that can include a Gran Final between champions and a Repechaje to decide the second promotion place. The second tier does not award direct continental qualification.
