Cup (Croatia) (Hrvatski nogometni kup) - Croatia’s national cup competition organised by the Croatian Football Federation (HNS), held since 1992. Regulations: the final competition phase is played in a straight knockout format with 48 clubs, with 16 teams entering directly based on cup performance over the last five years and the remaining places determined via a preliminary round involving regional cup winners and selected regional cup finalists to reach the round of 32, followed by the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and a one-match final, with each tie decided in a single match. The winner is the team that scores more goals in 90 minutes, if level after 90 minutes extra time of 2x15 minutes is played and, if still level, the tie is decided by a penalty shoot-out. The cup winner qualifies for UEFA club competition in the next season via the domestic cup place subject to club licensing requirements, and if the cup winner has already qualified for Europe via the league, the place is reallocated in line with UEFA access-list rules and national regulations.
