LigaPro Serie B (Ecuador) (LigaPro Serie B) - Ecuador’s second-tier professional club division, organised by LigaPro within the Ecuadorian Football Federation system. Regulations: in the 12-team model the season has a classification phase played as a double round-robin league (22 matchdays), followed by two final six-team groups - a promotion round and a relegation round, each played home and away (10 matchdays), with points and goal records from the classification phase carried over, and the standard points system applies with 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. If teams are level on points, ranking is decided by goal difference, then goals scored, then away goals scored, then head-to-head performance, and if still level the classification phase uses a public draw, while the final groups award the higher place to the club that finished better in the classification phase. Promotion: the top two clubs in the promotion round earn promotion to Ecuador’s Serie A, with reserve or affiliate teams ineligible and the place passing to the next eligible club. Relegation to Ecuador’s Segunda Categoría is applied from the relegation round according to the season decision and may be adjusted by the competition regulations.
