League Cup (England) (EFL Cup, held since the 1960/61 season, commercially known as the Carabao Cup, formerly the Football League Cup) - a national knockout cup competition organised by the English Football League and contested by clubs from the Premier League and the three EFL divisions. Regulations: the competition is played as a straight knockout, with one-match ties in each round, the home side in Rounds 1-5 generally determined by the draw, the semi-finals played over two legs home and away, and the Final played as a single match at a neutral venue set by the organiser; clubs qualifying for UEFA club competitions enter from Round Three, with byes used where required. If a tie in Rounds 1-5 is level after 90 minutes, no extra time is played and the winner is decided by a penalty shoot-out; if the aggregate score in the semi-final or the score in the Final is level after 90 minutes, extra time is played and, if still level, the tie is decided on penalties. The winners qualify for the UEFA Conference League play-off round, and if the winners have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League, the place is passed down to the next-highest Premier League team not already qualified for Europe.
