National League (England) (Vanarama National League) - the fifth level of professional club football in the league system of England and Wales, below EFL League Two. Regulations: 24 clubs compete in a double round-robin season, each team plays 46 matches (home and away against every opponent), 3 points are awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, and teams are ranked by points, then goal difference, goals scored, number of wins and head-to-head results. The champions and the play-off winners are eligible for promotion to EFL League Two subject to application and compliance with EFL admission criteria, including stadium and infrastructure requirements, while clubs finishing 2nd-7th contest the second promotion place via play-offs played as single-leg ties at the ground of the higher-ranked club, with extra time and, if required, a penalty shoot-out if level after 90 minutes. The bottom four clubs are relegated to National League North or National League South, with divisional allocation determined on a geographic basis by the relevant bodies.
