First League (Estonia) (Esiliiga) - the second tier of Estonia’s men’s club league system, organised under the Estonian Football Association. Regulations: the league typically features 10 teams playing each opponent four times per season, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. If teams are level on points, positions are decided by head to head points, then head to head goal difference and head to head goals scored, followed by overall goal difference and overall goals scored. Reserve teams may compete in the division but are not eligible for promotion to the top tier and must remain at least one level below their first team. At the end of the season, the best eligible club meeting licensing requirements is promoted to the Meistriliiga, and another eligible high placed club can enter a two leg promotion play off against a lower placed Meistriliiga club. The lowest placed clubs are relegated to Esiliiga B, and further survival can be decided via two leg relegation play offs as set for the season.
