Premier League (Ethiopia) (Ethiopian Premier League, CBE Ethiopian Premier League, የኢትዮጵያ ፕሪምየር ሊግ) - Ethiopia’s top-tier professional club league, run by the league management body (Ethiopian Premier League Share Company) under the authority of the Ethiopian Football Federation. Regulations: in the current format 20 clubs compete in a round-robin league with home and away matches, and the match calendar may be organized through groups for scheduling purposes without changing the single league table principle, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. Teams level on points are separated by the regulations in the sequence head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, then overall goal difference and overall goals scored. Relegation is applied to the Ethiopian Higher League with the exact number of relegated clubs and rotation mechanism defined season by season, while the league champion represents Ethiopia in the CAF Champions League and other CAF places for Ethiopian clubs are allocated under CAF slot distribution and CAF regulations, typically via league finishing positions and the national cup.
