Championnat D1 (Gabon) (National Foot 1) - the top-tier professional club league in Gabon under the Gabonese Football Federation and run by the Ligue Nationale de Football Professionnel (LINAFP). Regulations: the competition is played in a single group with a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 14 clubs, teams play each other home and away, the season has at least 22 and at most 26 matchdays depending on the number of participants, and points are awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. If two clubs are level on points, the order is decided by overall goal difference, then goals scored, then head-to-head goal difference where away goals are decisive, and if still level a playoff match is arranged with extra time and, if needed, penalties. If more than two clubs are level on points, a head-to-head mini-table is created, then the best attack and best defence within that mini-table are applied, and if still level an additional tournament is organised in which every match must produce a winner via extra time and penalties. The bottom two clubs are relegated to the second tier in Gabon (National Foot 2), while the top two clubs from the second tier are promoted. The champion qualifies for the CAF Champions League, while Gabon’s additional CAF Confederation Cup berth depends on CAF allocation and domestic selection rules and in recent entry lists has been assigned to the league runner-up.
