Oberliga Niederrhein - a regional fifth-tier division in the German league system and the top league of the Lower Rhine area, administered by the Football Association of the Lower Rhine (Fußballverband Niederrhein, FVN). Regulations: the competition is played as a league, typically with 18 clubs, with a double round-robin home-and-away schedule, and points awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. If teams finish level on points, the FVN procedure applies: for positions not deciding the title, promotion or relegation the ranking is determined by goal difference and then goals scored, while ties that decide the championship, promotion or survival are resolved via decider matches under the association regulations. The champion earns sporting qualification for the Regionalliga West subject to admission, and if the champion is not admitted or declines, the promotion right passes down the table, typically no lower than 3rd place. The number of relegated teams to the Landesliga Niederrhein is set by the seasonal FVN promotion and relegation scheme and depends on movements between the Regionalliga West and the Oberliga as well as the number of promoted teams from the Landesliga. There is no UEFA qualification from this competition.
