Oberliga NOFV-Nord (NOFV-Oberliga Nord) - the northern section of the NOFV Oberliga, the fifth tier of the German league system, organised under the Nordostdeutscher Fußballverband, NOFV. Regulations: the competition is run in two parallel sections, Nord and Süd, the Nord section typically features 16 clubs playing a double round robin home and away schedule, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss, and fixtures are generally scheduled on weekends. If teams are level on points, the NOFV ranking criteria apply in order: overall goal difference, then total goals scored, then head to head results, then away goals in the head to head matches, then total goals scored again where applicable via a goals per match quotient, and if a separation is still not achieved, deciding matches are played or lots are drawn. The Nord champion is eligible for promotion to the Regionalliga Nordost subject to meeting licensing and admission requirements, while relegation to the subordinate state association leagues is set before the season and depends on the number of teams coming down from the Regionalliga and the number of eligible teams coming up from below, with the lowest places typically relegated directly and additional playoffs used in certain scenarios.
