Regionalliga Northeast (Germany) (Regionalliga Nordost) - a German fourth-tier regional league competition run by the North-East German Football Association (NOFV) within the DFB league system. Regulations: the competition is played as a single-division league, typically as a double round-robin, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, and ties on points (or points-per-game) are broken in sequence by goal difference, goals scored, head-to-head results and away goals in head-to-head, with further criteria if required, and deciding matches may be ordered to determine the champion or promotion and relegation places. The champion earns the right to move up to the German third division (3. Liga) either directly or via a two-leg promotion playoff as set by DFB promotion rules for the season, and in such playoffs the winner is decided on aggregate, then away goals if applicable, then extra time and penalties. Relegation goes down to NOFV-Oberliga Nord and NOFV-Oberliga Süd, with the number of relegated clubs depending on the seasonal promotion and relegation framework. There is no direct UEFA qualification from this league.
