Regional League Southwest (Regionalliga Südwest) - a German fourth-tier regional league operated by Regionalliga Südwest GmbH within the national league pyramid. Regulations: the competition is played as a double round-robin league with an intended strength of 18 clubs, each team plays every opponent home and away, and points are awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, if teams are level on points the ranking sequence applies in order via goal difference, goals scored, head-to-head record over both matches, away goals in the head-to-head, and total away goals, and if equality persists for a position of competitive relevance a neutral-venue deciding match or a defined set of deciding matches is staged. The champion is eligible for promotion to the 3. Liga subject to admission and licensing, and the league does not provide direct UEFA qualification. Relegation is at least three clubs, with the number increasing by the count of teams relegated from the 3. Liga into the Regionalliga Südwest allocation, while vacancies are typically filled by eligible Oberliga champions from the feeder regions, and where applicable an additional place is decided via play-offs among the relevant runners-up.
