Ghana FA Cup (MTN FA Cup) - Ghana’s national knockout cup competition organised by the Ghana Football Association. Regulations: the competition is played as a knockout tournament and is split into a Qualifying FA Cup and the FA Cup Proper, with Premier League clubs exempt from the qualifying stage and the Proper starting from a 64-team Round of 64 completed by qualifiers to make 64 clubs in total. Eligible entrants include clubs from the Ghana Premier League, the Ghana Division One League and a number of clubs from lower divisions as determined by the association. Ties are drawn by lot and are generally played at the venue of the first-named club, while from the quarter-finals onwards venues are set by the cup committee. Matches are 90 minutes, and from the quarter-final to the final an additional 30 minutes is played if level, followed by a penalty shootout if still level, while earlier rounds are typically decided by penalty shootouts when level after 90 minutes without extra time. The winner qualifies to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup, subject to CAF club licensing requirements.
