Premier Division (Gibraltar) (Gibraltar Football League) - Gibraltar’s top national men’s club league organised under the Gibraltar Football Association. Regulations: the league is played in three rounds, in rounds one and two all teams play each other once per round, after round two only the top six form the Championship Group and play a third round against each other once, with points and statistics from the first two rounds carried over into the Championship Group table, while the bottom six teams finish their league participation at that point. Points are awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, and the champion is the team ranked first in the Championship Group table at the end of the third round. Tie-breakers are applied in sequence using head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, then a fair play scale based on cautions, dismissals and suspensions, and if teams remain level an additional match for two teams or a separate round-robin for three or more teams is arranged as determined by the association. Promotion and relegation are not automatic and only apply if separately set for the season. UEFA qualification depends on Gibraltar’s UEFA access list and is typically linked to league placing and the Rock Cup.
