Hong Kong Premier League - the top tier of club football in Hong Kong, China organised by The Football Association of Hong Kong, China. Regulations: the competition is played in two phases, with a home-and-away double round-robin in phase one, followed by a single round-robin in phase two after the league splits into two groups, and in the standard 10-team model the clubs placed 1-5 after phase one enter the Championship Group while the clubs placed 6-10 enter the Challenging Group. Points, goal difference and disciplinary and ethics records from phase one are carried into phase two, and final places 1-5 and 6-10 are determined by the respective group tables. A win is worth 3 points, a draw 1 and a loss 0. If teams are level on points, positions are decided by head-to-head criteria among all teams concerned, first head-to-head points, then head-to-head goal difference, then head-to-head goals scored, and if teams remain tied the same criteria are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the teams still tied after the initial calculation, then overall goal difference and overall goals scored apply, followed by disciplinary points based on cards, and finally lots, while a play-off match is предусмотрен to decide the champion if it can be arranged. At the end of the season the bottom-placed team is relegated to the Hong Kong First Division, and AFC club competition access is allocated in line with the association’s quota, licensing requirements and the applicable AFC regulations.
