Hungarian Cup (Magyar Kupa, sponsored as MOL Magyar Kupa) - Hungary’s national knockout cup competition organised by the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ). Regulations: the tournament is played as a single-elimination knockout and brings together clubs from multiple tiers, including professional divisions and teams qualifying via territorial cups, with each club entitled to enter only one team; top-division clubs typically enter at a later round, after which the bracket is reduced to a 64-team stage and then progresses round by round to the final. Ties are decided in one match, with hosting rights generally granted to the lower-division club, while the final venue and designation are set separately; from the later entry round extra time is played if level, followed by penalties if required, while in the earlier rounds the winner may be decided by a penalty shoot-out without extra time. The cup winner earns sporting qualification for the UEFA Europa League via the national allocation, subject to club licensing and UEFA reallocation rules if the winner has already qualified for UEFA competition via another route.
