National Championship II (Hungary) (Nemzeti Bajnokság II, NB II) - the second-tier professional national club league in Hungary, staged under the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ). Regulations: the league has 16 teams and is played as a double round-robin over 30 matchdays with home and away fixtures, awarding 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. If teams are level on points, MLSZ applies the following tie-break sequence: more wins, overall goal difference, more goals scored, points difference in head-to-head league matches, head-to-head goal difference, fair play ranking, then drawing of lots. At the end of the season, teams finishing 1st and 2nd are promoted to the National Championship I (NB I), teams finishing 15th and 16th are relegated to the National Championship III (NB III), and the two promoted clubs from NB III are determined via play-off ties among the four group winners. The league itself does not award direct UEFA places, UEFA qualification is reached via top-tier placement after promotion, or via the Hungarian Cup (Magyar Kupa) subject to eligibility requirements.
