

Super League (India) (Indian Super League) - the top professional club competition in India, organised by the league in conjunction with the national federation. Regulations: the league stage is played in a round-robin format with teams playing each opponent home and away, 3 points are awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, the final table is decided by points and, if level, by head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, overall goal difference, goals scored, fair play ranking and then drawing of lots. The team finishing 1st after the league stage is deemed the league winner, after which the ISL Cup is decided via playoffs: the top six qualify, teams placed 1st and 2nd advance directly to the semi-finals, teams placed 3rd to 6th play single-leg knockouts hosted by the higher-ranked side, the semi-finals are two-legged and the final is single-leg, with extra time and, if required, a penalty shoot-out used to decide ties.
