FAI Cup (Corn Chumann Peile na hÉireann) - the Republic of Ireland’s primary national knockout cup organised by the Football Association of Ireland. Regulations: the competition is played as a single-elimination cup, with the entry list combining League of Ireland clubs and qualified non-league teams from regional football, while the round at which teams enter and any byes are set by season regulations, and early stages may be treated as the First Round rather than a separate preliminary phase. If a tie is level, extra time is played and, if still level, the winner is decided by a penalty shoot-out. The cup winner earns a UEFA club competition berth for the following season in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds, typically from the Second Qualifying Round, subject to the UEFA access list and club licensing, and if the cup winner has already qualified via the league the place is reallocated under association and UEFA rules.
