

Ligat ha'Al (Israel) (Israeli Premier League) - the top professional club football division of Israel under the Israel Football Association. Regulations: 14 clubs take part, the season starts with a double round-robin (home and away), after which the league splits into two groups - an upper group (positions 1-6) and a lower group (positions 7-14), with the upper group playing a further two round-robins and the lower group a further single round-robin, the champion is determined by the final table of the upper group, and the teams finishing 13th-14th after the lower group are relegated to Liga Leumit. Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss, if teams are level on points the tie-breakers are applied in order as goal difference, number of wins and goals scored, then the same criteria applied only to the matches between the tied teams, and if teams still cannot be separated and the title, promotion or relegation is at stake a single play-off match at a venue set by the league is used, with extra time and a penalty shoot-out if required. UEFA club competition places are allocated via the final league positions and the domestic cup and provide entry to UEFA Champions League qualifying and also to UEFA Europa League or UEFA Conference League qualifying, subject to club licensing requirements.
