State Cup (Israel) (Israel State Cup, Gvia HaMedina) - Israel’s national domestic knockout cup competition organised by the Israel Football Association. Regulations: the competition is played as a straight knockout with each round paired by an unseeded draw, and each tie is a single match with home status determined by the draw. Clubs from across the Israeli league system take part, lower-division teams start in preliminary rounds, and top-flight clubs typically enter when the bracket reaches 32 teams. If level after 90 minutes, the tie goes to two 15-minute extra-time periods and, if still level, a penalty shoot-out. The winner qualifies for the UEFA Europa League qualifying phase and, if the cup winner has already qualified for the UEFA Champions League via the league, the Europa League berth is allocated to the cup runner-up, subject to licensing.
