Serie C relegation play-outs (Italy) (Play-Out) - a regulatory stage of Italy’s third-tier professional league run by Lega Pro under the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) that determines additional relegations to Serie D beyond the direct relegation of the bottom club in each group. Regulations: in each of the three groups, the play-outs involve the teams finishing from fifth-bottom to second-bottom, paired as 16th vs 19th and 17th vs 18th, with each tie played over two legs where the first leg is hosted by the lower finisher and the second leg by the higher finisher. The tie is decided by points over the two matches, if level on points after the second leg it is decided by aggregate goal difference, and if still level the higher regular-season finisher retains its place. A play-out tie is not played if the points gap between 19th and 16th exceeds 8 points, or if the gap between 18th and 17th exceeds 8 points, and in that case the lower-ranked team is relegated directly. Lega Pro organises the play-out matches as the competition organiser and rights holder.
