

Jamaica Premier League (JPL) - Jamaica’s top-level professional club league sanctioned by the Jamaican Football Federation. Regulations: the competition features 14 clubs and the regular season is played as a triple round-robin, with teams meeting three times, three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss, and if teams finish level on points the table is decided by goal difference followed by further criteria defined in the competition regulations. After the regular season, the top six advance to the playoffs, teams placed 1-2 qualify directly for the semifinals, teams placed 3-6 play the quarterfinals, the quarterfinals and semifinals are played over two legs home and away with the winner decided on aggregate, while the final and third-place match are single-leg fixtures and the final can be decided by extra time and penalties if level. The bottom two regular-season teams are relegated and replaced by the top two finishers from the JFF Championship. International qualification: the top two qualify for the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup, the third-place team qualifies for the CFU Caribbean Club Shield, and qualification to the CONCACAF Champions Cup is achieved via a top-three finish in the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup.
