J.League Cup (Japan) (YBC Levain Cup) is a domestic cup competition organized under the J.League, in the current model it features clubs from Japan’s top three professional J.League divisions, while some teams involved in AFC club competitions or the FIFA Club World Cup may enter from a later round. Regulations: the tournament is played as a knockout competition across the First Round, the Play-off Round and the Prime Round, with early ties typically decided in a single match and, if level after 90 minutes, extra time and a penalty shoot-out. In the Play-off Round and Prime Round, ties are played over two legs home and away, the winner is decided first by the number of wins across the two matches, if still level then by aggregate goal difference, then extra time after the second leg and, if necessary, a penalty shoot-out, and the away goals rule is not used. The final is a single match at a neutral venue, with extra time and, if required, a penalty shoot-out if scores are level after 90 minutes.
