Kuwait Premier League (Zain Premier League) - Kuwait’s top-tier domestic club league organised by the Kuwait Football Association. Regulations: the league features 10 teams and is played over three rounds, with rounds one and two played home and away, after which teams split by points into two groups while carrying over all previously earned points and records, positions 1-6 form the Championship Group and play a third round as a single match against each opponent, while positions 7-10 form the Relegation Group and play a third round as a single match against each opponent, and final standings are decided on the overall season totals. Points are awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. Tie-breakers are applied under the association regulations in sequence, starting with head-to-head points among the tied teams, then head-to-head goal difference, followed by overall goal difference and other defined criteria, and if teams remain level an additional match or a round-robin mini-tournament may be scheduled. At season end, the top two clubs from the Kuwaiti First Division are promoted and the bottom two Premier League clubs are relegated, while AFC qualification depends on Kuwait’s AFC access list and is allocated by league placing and other domestic criteria for the season.
