Super Cup (Latvia) (Latvijas Superkauss) - Latvia’s official season-opening super cup match organised by the Latvian Football Federation at top-division level. Regulations: it is played as a single match and the participants are determined by the previous season results, typically the Latvian champions and the Latvian Cup winners, and if one club completes a domestic double the opponent is the league runners-up. The match is played over two 45-minute halves and if the score is level after 90 minutes the winner is decided by a penalty shoot-out under the Laws of the Game procedure. The edition regulations may also include squad and eligibility requirements, including mandatory minimum numbers of federation-trained players on the pitch.
