

A Lyga (Lithuania) - the top professional club division in Lithuania under the Lithuanian Football Federation and the Lithuanian Football Clubs Association A Lyga. Regulations: 10 clubs take part, the season is played as a four-round league format, with each team playing every opponent 4 times (2 home and 2 away), for 36 matches per club. Teams receive 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. If teams are level on points, positions are decided in order by: head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, head-to-head wins, overall goal difference, overall goals scored, overall wins, disciplinary points (yellow card - 1, red card - 4), then drawing of lots. If two teams finish level on points in 1st place, an additional match is played at a neutral venue with extra time and, if required, a penalty shoot-out, and if more than two teams are level on points in 1st place a single round-robin mini-tournament among those teams is used. The bottom club is relegated to I Lyga, and the 9th-placed club plays a two-legged promotion and relegation play-off against the I Lyga runners-up, with extra time in the second leg and, if required, penalties if the aggregate score is level. UEFA competition places are allocated via the final league table and the Lithuanian Cup, subject to club licensing and UEFA rules: the champions enter the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, the teams finishing 2nd and 3rd enter the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, the Lithuanian Cup winners enter the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, and if the Cup finalists already have UEFA places or if the Cup is won by the team finishing 2nd or 3rd, the UEFA Conference League place is reallocated to the 4th-placed league team.
