Super Cup (Lithuania) (LFF Supercup) - the annual season-opening match in Lithuanian club football, staged under the Lithuanian Football Federation between the previous season’s A Lyga champions and the Lithuanian Football Cup holders. Regulations: it is played as a single 90-minute match and, if level, goes straight to a penalty shoot-out with no extra time, and if one club wins both the league and the cup the opponent is the A Lyga runners-up, while in earlier editions a “double” could result in the match not being played and the trophy being awarded automatically.
