Cup (Luxembourg)

Luxembourg Cup (Coupe de Luxembourg) - Luxembourg’s national domestic knockout cup competition organised by the Luxembourg Football Federation. Regulations: the tournament is played as a straight knockout with pairings decided by a draw, matches are generally hosted by the club drawn first, when clubs from different divisions meet the lower-division club hosts, a winner must be determined before the next round, if level after 90 minutes extra time of two 15-minute periods is played and, if still level, the tie is decided by a penalty shootout, and the final is played at a venue designated by the federation’s administration. The season regulations define the entry structure, including a preliminary round for lower-division clubs, a fixed first round and the staged entry of higher-level clubs, after which the competition proceeds through the Round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals and the final. The winner qualifies for UEFA Conference League qualifying via Luxembourg’s cup-winner berth as set out in the UEFA access list for the relevant season.
