Botola 2 (Morocco)

Botola 2 (Botola Pro 2) - Morocco’s second-tier professional club league, organized by the LNFP under the authority of the FRMF. Regulations: it is played as a single-table league, typically with 16 clubs, teams meet home and away, with 16 clubs each team plays 30 matches, and points are awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. If teams finish level on points, tiebreakers apply in sequence, for two teams the head-to-head goal difference comes first, then number of wins, then goals scored, and if still level an additional playoff match on neutral ground can be scheduled with extra time and penalties if required, for three or more teams the overall goal difference comes first, then number of wins, then goals scored, and if still level an additional playoff match or matches can be used. At season end, the top two are promoted to Botola Pro, while the bottom teams are relegated to the national amateur tier. CAF places are allocated via Botola Pro and the Throne Cup, so Botola 2 itself does not normally award direct CAF qualification.
