National League (Myanmar) (Myanmar National League, MNL) - Myanmar’s top professional club division organised under the Myanmar Football Federation. Regulations: the league typically features 12 clubs and is played as a double round-robin, with each team meeting every opponent twice home and away for 22 matches, awarding 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, and league positions are determined by total points with the tie-break sequence usually applying head-to-head results first, then overall goal difference and then goals scored, while a neutral-venue play-off match may be ordered in decisive cases for the title, relegation or qualification places. At the end of the season, the bottom two clubs are relegated to Myanmar National League 2 (MNL-2) and the top two clubs from MNL-2 are promoted. International qualification is governed by the association’s AFC slot allocation and club licensing, with the champion and other clubs potentially entering AFC men’s club competitions including the AFC Champions League Two and the AFC Challenge League, and an additional place may be assigned via domestic cup or league cup results and ASEAN regional competition criteria.
