

Norwegian First Division (Norway) (OBOS-ligaen) - the second tier of the Norwegian men’s league system run under the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF). Regulations: 16 clubs play a double round robin home and away, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, and teams level on points are ranked by goal difference, then goals scored, then head to head results, with a qualification procedure used if equality persists and it decides the title, promotion or relegation. The teams placed 1st and 2nd are promoted to the Eliteserien, while teams placed 3rd to 6th enter a promotion playoff in a ladder of single matches hosted by the higher seeded club, 5th vs 6th, the winner vs 4th, the winner vs 3rd, and the winner then plays a two legged tie against the 14th placed Eliteserien club for a place in the top division. The teams placed 15th and 16th are relegated to the Norwegian Second Division (PostNord-ligaen), while the 14th placed team plays a two legged relegation playoff against the winner of a two legged tie between the two PostNord-ligaen runners up. The league itself does not award UEFA places, continental qualification is determined via the Eliteserien and the Norwegian Cup.
