

Eliteserien (Norway) (formerly Tippeligaen) - the top professional club division in Norway under the Football Association of Norway (NFF). Regulations: 16 clubs take part, teams play each other twice home and away for 30 matches per team, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, league positions are decided by points, then overall goal difference, goals scored and head-to-head results, and if the order is still not decided and the title or relegation is at stake, qualification matches are used with the format and venue set by the organiser. At the end of the season the teams in 15th and 16th are relegated to the OBOS-ligaen, while the 14th-placed team plays a promotion and relegation play-off against the second-tier qualification winner, where the teams finishing 5th and 6th start with a match hosted by the 5th-placed team, the winner then plays away to the 4th-placed team and then away to the 3rd-placed team, after which the winner faces the 14th-placed Eliteserien team over two legs home and away, with the home-leg order decided by a draw. UEFA qualification is allocated via the final league table and the Norwegian Cup, with the champions entering UEFA Champions League qualifying, the cup winners entering UEFA Europa League qualifying and the next league places entering UEFA Conference League qualifying, with places passed down the league table if a slot is already taken.
