1 Liga (Poland)

1. Liga (Poland) (Betclic 1. Liga, I liga) - Poland’s second-tier professional league under the Polish Football Association (PZPN). Regulations: the competition features 18 clubs playing a double round-robin season of 34 matches with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. If teams are level on points, the PZPN tie-break criteria apply, for two teams head-to-head points come first, then head-to-head goal difference, then overall goal difference, then goals scored, then number of wins, then number of away wins, and for three or more teams the same criteria are applied sequentially only to matches played among the tied teams. The clubs finishing 1st and 2nd are promoted to the Ekstraklasa, while the teams placed 3rd to 6th play single-match promotion play-offs in a 3rd v 6th and 4th v 5th bracket with a final between the winners, with the higher-ranked team hosting each match, and if level after regular time extra time is played followed by penalties if required. Clubs finishing 16th to 18th are relegated to 2. Liga. League positions in 1. Liga do not directly award UEFA competition places, which are allocated via Ekstraklasa and the Polish Cup under the relevant regulations.
