Qatar Cup (Amir Cup) - Qatar’s national knockout cup competition organised by the Qatar Football Association. Regulations: the tournament is played as a single-elimination cup with clubs from the top tier and the Second Division, and depending on the draw structure a preliminary round may be used to determine the Round of 16 line-up, after which each round is decided in one match through to the final. If level after 90 minutes, two 15-minute extra-time periods are played, and if still level the winner is decided by a penalty shootout. The winner qualifies for AFC club competitions in line with Qatar’s slot allocation, with any reallocation handled under domestic regulations and AFC requirements.
