Liga I (Romania): matches and statistics

Romanian SuperLiga (formerly Liga 1) - the top professional club football division in Romania, run under the Romanian Professional Football League and the Romanian Football Federation. Regulations: 16 clubs take part, the regular season is a double round-robin with each team playing 30 matches home and away, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, after which the season continues with a split - teams in places 1-6 play a championship play-off as a double round-robin (10 additional matches) and teams in places 7-16 play a relegation play-out as a single round-robin (9 additional matches). Before the play-off and play-out, regular-season points are halved, with a 0.5 rounding-up applied when required, and for the final standings in the play-off and play-out ties on points are settled by whether a team benefited from rounding, then regular-season points, then head-to-head results in the play-off or play-out, head-to-head goal difference and head-to-head goals scored, then overall goal difference and overall goals scored across the season, with an additional play-off match used if still required. The bottom two teams in the play-out are relegated to Liga II, while the teams finishing 7th and 8th in the play-out play a two-legged promotion and relegation play-off for a Liga 1 place against Liga II teams defined by the competition rules. UEFA qualification is allocated as follows: the champions enter UEFA Champions League qualifying, the domestic cup winners enter UEFA Europa League qualifying, the next best teams in the final overall table enter UEFA Conference League qualifying, and the final UEFA Conference League qualifying place may be decided via an additional European play-off involving the best play-out teams and the highest-placed championship-group team that has not qualified directly.
