

The Saudi Super Cup (Saudi Super Cup, established in 2013) is an official competition organised by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and typically serves as a season curtain-raiser. Regulations: under the current format, four clubs participate - the Saudi Pro League champion and runner-up, plus the King’s Cup winner and finalist, with the competition played as a three-match knockout consisting of two semi-finals and a final. The default semi-final pairing is league champion vs King’s Cup finalist and King’s Cup winner vs league runner-up, and if one club occupies more than one slot the field is completed from the next highest league finishers and the semi-final ties are set by a draw. Matches are 90 minutes, and if level after normal time there is no extra time, the winner is decided by a penalty shoot-out. Dates and venue are set by the organiser.
