Scottish League One (League One) - the third tier of the Scottish professional league system, organised by the Scottish Professional Football League. Regulations: the division comprises 10 clubs and operates as a league competition with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a defeat, with final standings decided by overall goal difference, then overall goals scored, then head-to-head points between the relevant clubs and head-to-head goal difference. If clubs still cannot be separated and the outcome affects the title, promotion, relegation, play-off participation or qualification for other competitions, a deciding match is played at a neutral venue, with extra time and penalties if required, while ties that do not affect those matters result in equal placings. The champions are promoted to the Scottish Championship and the bottom club is relegated to the Scottish League Two. The Championship place play-off is played over two legs involving the 9th-placed Scottish Championship club and the clubs finishing 2nd to 4th in Scottish League One, and the League One place play-off is played over two legs involving the 9th-placed Scottish League One club and the clubs finishing 2nd to 4th in Scottish League Two, with aggregate scoring used and extra time plus penalties after the second leg if needed.
