Serbian First League (Prva liga Srbije) - the second-tier professional league in Serbia under the Football Association of Serbia, with competition operations delegated to the association of SuperLiga and First League clubs. Regulations: the league has 16 clubs and is played in two phases - a preliminary phase of 30 rounds in a double round-robin format, followed by a final phase where teams split into a play-off group (places 1-6, five rounds with one match against each group opponent) and a play-out group (places 7-16, nine rounds as a single round-robin among 10 teams), with all points carried over, and match points awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. If teams are level on points in the interim table during the preliminary phase, ranking is decided by overall goal difference and then goals scored, while ties on points after the preliminary phase are broken by head-to-head criteria: points in matches among the tied teams, then head-to-head goal difference, and for three or more teams also head-to-head goals scored, followed by overall goal difference and overall goals scored, then the fair play table and, if needed, a draw. If teams are level on points after the final phase, the higher position in the preliminary phase table after 30 rounds prevails. The top two teams are promoted to the Serbian SuperLiga subject to licensing, teams placed 11-16 are relegated to the relevant republican leagues on a territorial basis, and there is no direct qualification to international competitions via this league.
