Slovenian Second League (2. SNL) - the second tier of the Slovenian men’s club league system, run under the Football Association of Slovenia. Regulations: the league has 16 teams and is played as a double round-robin, each club plays every opponent twice home and away for 30 matchdays, with points awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss. If teams are level on points, positions are decided in sequence by head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, overall goal difference, overall goals scored, fair play ranking, and then by drawing lots. The 1st-placed team is promoted directly to the Slovenian top division, while the 2nd-placed team plays a two-leg promotion play-off against the 9th-placed top-division team, with goal difference deciding if points are level and extra time in the second leg followed by penalties if the tie remains level on goals. The teams finishing 15th and 16th are normally relegated to the Slovenian third tier.
