Suriname Major League (SML) - Suriname’s professional top-tier club league organised under the Surinamese Football Association within CONCACAF. Regulations: it is played as a single-table league, with the number of clubs set for each season, the launch model used 10 teams, and the standard points system applies with 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, while ties on points are broken by head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference and head-to-head goals scored, then overall goal difference and overall goals scored, and finally by drawing of lots. A championship play-off phase may be staged after the league stage, played as knockout ties, and when aggregate scores are level the winner is typically decided by a penalty shoot-out, with extra-time provisions defined by the season regulations. Relegation to the Eerste Divisie exists in principle, but promotion and relegation numbers are set by the season rules and may be zero. International qualification is allocated by quotas and licensing, with pathways linked to CFU Club Shield, CONCACAF Caribbean Cup and CONCACAF Champions Cup.
