Superettan (Sweden) - the second tier of professional club football in Sweden within the national league system. Regulations: 16 clubs take part, the season is played on a spring-to-autumn calendar, teams play each other home and away for 30 matches, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, and ties on points are broken by goal difference, then goals scored and head-to-head criteria, with an additional match at a neutral venue used when teams still cannot be separated and a decisive position is at stake. At the end of the season the top two clubs are promoted automatically to Allsvenskan, and a further promotion place is decided via qualification ties, with an approved model featuring a separate two-legged play-off between the teams finishing 3rd and 4th followed by a two-legged tie against the 14th-placed Allsvenskan club. The bottom two clubs are relegated automatically to Ettan, while the teams finishing 13th and 14th play two-legged relegation play-offs against the Ettan runners-up, with the Ettan clubs hosting the first leg.
