

Challenge League (Switzerland) (Dieci Challenge League) - the second tier of professional club football in Switzerland under the Swiss Football League. Regulations: 10 clubs compete, the championship is played in two phases of 18 rounds, and in each phase every club plays every opponent once home and away, for 36 matches per team. Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss, the table is decided by points, then goal difference, goals scored, goal difference in head-to-head matches among the teams level on points, away goals scored across all league matches, then drawing of lots. The league winner is promoted to the Super League, the 10th-placed club is relegated to the Promotion League, and the 2nd-placed club plays a two-legged play-off home and away against the 11th-placed Super League club, with the order of home legs decided by a draw, the winner determined by points over the two matches and then by aggregate goals, followed by extra time in the second leg and, if required, a penalty shoot-out, with promotion and relegation subject to club licensing rules.
