The bottom club (12th) is relegated to the Challenge League, the Challenge League champion is promoted, and the 11th-placed club plays a two-legged promotion-relegation play-off home and away against the 2nd-placed Challenge League club, the order of home legs is decided by draw, the winner is determined by points over the two matches, then by total goals, then extra time is played in the second leg and, if necessary, a penalty shoot-out. UEFA club competition places are allocated based on the final standings and Switzerland’s UEFA access list, subject to club licensing requirements.
