National Championship (Togo) (D1 Lonato) - the top tier of club football in Togo, organised by the Togolese Football Federation. Regulations: the competition is played as a single-table league of 14 clubs in a double round-robin home-and-away format, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, and a forfeit is recorded as a 3-0 result. If teams finish level on points, places are decided by head-to-head points, then head-to-head goal difference, then overall goal difference, then overall goals scored, then fewer Fair Play penalties, and finally by drawing of lots. At season end the first-placed club is crowned champion of Togo, the clubs in 1st and 2nd qualify for the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup, and the bottom two clubs are relegated to the national second division.
