Premier League (Ukraine) (Ukrainian Premier League, UPL) - the top professional club division in Ukraine. Regulations: 16 clubs play a double round-robin, each team plays every other team home and away (30 rounds). Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss. The table is decided by points, then by head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, then overall goal difference and overall goals scored. If teams are still level, a “golden match” is used to decide the championship when only two clubs remain tied, with extra time and penalties if required, otherwise the placing is decided by drawing of lots. At the end of the season the teams in 15th and 16th are relegated to the First League, the teams in 13th and 14th play two-legged play-offs for a Premier League place against the teams finishing 4th and 3rd in the First League, the winner is decided by aggregate goals, with extra time and penalties in the second leg if level, while the 1st and 2nd placed First League clubs are promoted subject to licensing and certification requirements. UEFA club competition places are allocated via the final league table and the Ukrainian Cup: the champions enter UEFA Champions League qualifying, the cup winners enter UEFA Europa League qualifying, and the next best-placed clubs enter UEFA Conference League qualifying, subject to club licensing and entry criteria.
